MOLL INDUSTRIES PURCHASES ASSETS OF CREATIVE PLASTIC MOLDERS
DALLAS, TX - Moll Industries, Inc., a custom plastics injection molder and manufacturer in business since 1945, announced today it purchased the assets of Creative Plastic Molders, Inc. (CPM) in Lexington, North Carolina. Moll's strategy for the buy is to dedicate the company's Seagrove, North Carolina facility solely to medical production and assemblies. By moving production functions for appliance and consumer products to the nearby locale, Moll achieves enhanced operations for all its core market segments.
Moll anticipates a continuation of "business-as-usual" for existing CPM customers and suppliers, but notes the company is under no obligations and cannot be held liable for any prior CPM commitments. Bill Collins, Operations Manager for both Moll North Carolina operations stated, "we are committed to a seamless transition of business for the Lexington facility." He also confirmed Moll's plans to hire many ex-CPM staff, and to aggressively pursue continued growth within all market segments. The Lexington facility, built in 1980, is comprised of about 110,000 square feet of production space, and complements an already robust array of plastics manufacturing capabilities and service offerings. Citing an increasing 12-month sales trend, Moll President Ron Embree said, "This just makes good sense. We know we are taking on experienced people, and we'll be able to respond with competence and confidence to escalating client demands while streamlining our focus within specific facilities and taking us to the next level in providing value-added customer benefits." Moll Industries, Inc. is the largest and most experienced full-service contract manufacturer of custom injection molded components and assemblies to the appliance industry in North America, and a leading medical device component and assemblies supplier. Moll's core technologies include two-shot, insert molding, in mold decoration, over molding and post mold decoration. Moll also provides value added secondary processes and offers extensive experience in lean manufacturing techniques and production optimizations.
