PRESIDENT VICENTE FOX VISITS MOLL MEXICO
DALLAS, TX - Mexico's President Vicente Fox honored Moll Mexico, a plastic injection molder and contract manufacturer, visiting its newly constructed plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila on Tuesday, November 15, 2005. Hosted by Dallas based Moll CEO/President, Paul Adkins, Fox participated in ceremonies that included a ribbon cutting, initiation of production and start-up of the press. After Fox removed the first part, he autographed the production machine, which was also signed by Adkins and Coahuila's Governor, Enrique Martinez y Martinez.
Fox was introduced by Governor Martinez y Martinez and accompanied by Ernesto Saro, Mayor of Ramos Arizpe, Ignacio Diego, Secretary of Planning and Development for Saltillo, Coahuila, and other officials. Fox shared welcoming comments with the crowd of about 150 customers, suppliers, employees, friends and press representatives. Gratitude for the company's efforts and investments in Mexico was expressed, as was recognition for Moll's dedication to building state-of-the-art facilities that function at the highest levels of efficiency and quality. Fox also acknowledged the importance of joint US-Latin American collaboration focused to succeed against tough Asian and global manufacturing competition.
The Ramos facility is a third site for Moll Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V., a Mexican company owned by Moll Holdings, a US entity that also owns Moll Industries, Inc. The Ramos plant extends capabilities and supplements current production in Monterrey and Empalme, Sonora. Capital investments are estimated to top $13 million for infrastructure, equipment and construction of the 135,000 square foot facility. Full-scale operations are slated for February 2006 on around 35 presses ranging in tonnage from 100 up to 1650, with space available for up to 50. Molding, secondary processing and assembly will be mainly for the appliance industry, with some automotive, electronics and other consumer products also manufactured.
Moll companies are some of the largest and most experienced full-service contract manufacturers of custom injection molded plastic components and assemblies to the appliance, medical and consumer products industries globally. Moll's core technologies include two-shot, gas-assist, insert molding, in mold decoration, over molding and post mold decoration. Moll also supplies many value added secondary processes and offers extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques, production optimizations, supply chain solutions and total logistics management. Additional information about the company can be found online at www.mollindustries.com.
